Riad Khadoj-Marrakech-Traditional

Positive: - Absolutely stunning Riad — beautifully decorated, incredibly spacious, and full of character ​ - Breakfast was fantastic — delicious, fresh, and such a lovely start to the day ​ - Perfect location — right in the heart of the Medina, walking distance to so many attractions and souks. If you want any Argan oil definitely check out Naturom for authentic 100% certified products. ​ - It does have a slight musty smell in places, but that’s purely because of how old the building is - completely understandable and it passes quickly Negative: - Swimming pool is very small — nice to have, but don’t expect anything big ​ - Car park / luggage scam warning — The car park isn’t owned by the Riad, but the staff work closely together. They spoke in Arabic among themselves the whole time, knowing full well we couldn’t understand what they were saying — but their body language told us everything. The man at the car park offered to carry our luggage. When we asked the price, he said "Don’t worry — we are family, I know Khalid." He made it sound like a complimentary service. Only after dropping our luggage off did he demand 300 MAD — for something we could have easily carried ourselves. He pretended not to understand when we asked the cost upfront. ​ - Khalid then stepped in saying "just pay half" — it felt like a pre-planned arrangement, not a misunderstanding. I stood my ground and explained I will pay 50 MAD but any more is extortionate. Then we settled at 100MAD. ​ - Parking cost also changed on arrival — we were told around $4 per night, but ended up paying 170 MAD total for 2 vehicles. It felt like they assumed we had unlimited money and tried to charge whatever they could get away with. Again I don't want to say it was the Riads fault. But when you are speaking to one another in Arabic, its easy to assume. For future travellers beware. - Confirm ALL prices upfront and in writing — parking, luggage, everything. ​ - Don’t let anyone carry your bags unless you agree a clear price FIRST ​ - Be aware — if they start speaking a language you don’t understand and avoid answering direct questions, trust your gut ​ - Showers kept blocking and flooding — the water drained very slowly and would pool up, taking a long time to go down. It meant the bathroom floor kept getting wet and slippery - Rooftop has no view — surrounded by high walls, so you can’t see out. Good for sitting, but don’t come here expecting a vista

Exceptional Stay – Outstanding Hospitality! Positive: We had a lovely stay at the riad! Our family of 10 was completely comfortable, with plenty of room for everyone. The host, cooks, and cleaner were so warm and attentive—the food and service were incredible. When our flight was unexpectedly cancelled, they kindly gave us an extra day, turning a stressful moment into a wonderful bonus. We couldn't recommend them more!

séjour dépaysant et typique .magnifique RIAD. Positive: le Riad est conforme aux photos, très beau et agréable, super calme avec une terrasse ou chacun pouvait se détendre et apprécier la fraicheur du soir. Les chambres sont spacieuses avec toilettes et salle de bains privative( ce qui est appréciable en groupe).le plus est la clim dans chaque chambre (super pour se reposer et dormir, après les chaleurs de la jounée)petit dej copieux !!.en plein dans la médina! nous étions a qqs pas des souks et a 10mns de la place jemaa el fna. dépaysement total et plongée dans le maroc intense .je recommande fortement!!!! I highly recommend this Riad Khadoj. The location, facilities and hosts were outstanding! Positive: Khalid met us with a smile at the parking lot nearby and gave us a tour of the riad before leaving. He was at our disposal the entire stay. Note: there are two parking lots near the riad. Khalid was initially waiting for us at the wrong one. Luckily our driver would not leave us until we were met by our host. The driver used my phone to call Khalid and instruct him to where we were waiting. Ask your driver to call Khalid with the specific location of where you are waiting. Negative: The riad, host and cook were excellent! No complaints. The towels smelled a bit musty but that's so minor.
