Loved Medina, but accommodation needs to be improved. Positive: The breakfast lady was lovely. The beds were comfortable Central location in Medina Negative: Welcome from Kharim - he was running ahead of us, we had to hurry to keep up. We were told it was "only a few steps" from taxi to Riad, it was difficult to follow him, it was a great distance. The steps in the house were treacherous, from front door and steps to upper area. I was unable to use the upper area as I was nervous of using the steps. Did not feel safe in alleyways from main area to Riad Breakfast was very disappointing. No seasonings to enhance breakfast.. I was told there was tea and coffee makers - there were none. No Wifi in double bedroom, reported this, but was told to "move the box" this did not improve the reception. No television - shame. No air-con in living area In bathroom were used toothbrushes and toiletries Cleanliness could be better, especially in shower room.

Positive: Decor and spacious Negative: The location

Positive: Das Frühstück war sehr lecker, die Betten fanden wir sehr bequem, die Terrasse und das Wohnzimmer waren auch sehr angenehm Negative: Die Unterkunft befindet sich in einer ziemlich dreckigen Sackgasse, an manchen Tagen hat die Straßenbeleuchtung nicht funktioniert, es war am Abend ziemlich unangenehm.

Authentic and central Positive: Loved the closeness to everything as well as the breakfasts cooked in the apartment. We had 38° days outside but the apartment stayed relatively cool on the first floor. The evenings on the terrace were lovely as well as the mornings before It got too hot. Breakfast on the terrace in the morning was a great bonus. Rooms had air conditioning which we did use but we probably could have avoided using. Very close to the famous markets, the secret garden (definitely not a secret), amazing restaurants. My houseguests did an excursion to the dunes for camel rides and quad bikes, my gay sensibilities told me this was not for me, but my guests LOVED IT, the host organised this €60 (side note, booking.com organizes this for less than half the price so shop around) Negative: One of our party said the single bed was very hard, and found it difficult to sleep. I like harder beds so I was fine. The walk to the house first appeared to be a dangerous back street affair, but if we say anyone in the streets paying they were always polite and we never felt unsafe. And honestly, we really were in the heart of the area. Easy walking to all parts of the Medina.
